Object Tab
The Object function of the Editor tool of PhotoScape allows you to paste pictures, text and shapes into existing photos.

Pictures and Text
Click on the Framed Mountain icon, on the upper right-hand corner of the lower options bar.

Select an option from the dropdown menu. You can paste your own picture from your hard drive by selecting “Photo” or you can paste a picture from your clipboard (something that has been cut or copied from another document) by selecting Clipboard Photo or you can paste clipart by selecting one of the categories from the dropdown menu.
1. Adjust the position of the newly pasted picture by click and dragging the picture around the photo.

Speech Balloon
1. Click on the Balloon icon in the section furthest to the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Type in the desired text into the rectangular text box with “Balloon” written in it.

3. Adjust the size, orientation and appearance of the text and the balloon using the options in the lower part of the window.

4. Once the text and the balloon options are set, click OK.



Text
1. Click the “T” icon in the section furthest to the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Type the desired text into the rectangular text box with “Text” written in it.

3. Adjust he size, orientation and appearance of the text using the options in the lower part of the window.
Note: You can add in automatic text (such as the time the picture was taken or the camera model) by clicking on the “EXIF” button.


Word Art

1. Click on the “T” with shadow icon in the section furthest to the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Type the desired text into the rectangular text box with “PhotoScape” written in it.

3. Adjust the size, orientation and appearance of the text using the options in the lower part of the window.

Symbol
1. Click on the quotation marks icon in the section furthest to the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Select a category of symbol from the left menu.

3. Select a symbol from the right menu.

4. Adjust the appearance of the symbol using the option in the lower part of the window.

5. Adjust the position of the symbol by clicking and dragging the symbol around the photo.

Shapes
Free Hand Line

1. Click on the squiggly line icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Adjust the thickness, opacity, and appearance of the line using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.


Straight Line

1. Click on the straight line icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Adjust the thickness, opacity, and appearance of the line using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.

3. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the start and endpoint of the line.

Square
1. Click on the square icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Adjust the opacity and appearance of the square using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.

3. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the two corners of the square.
Opacity: 255, Outline: v

Opacity: 150, Fill: v
3. Click and drag to draw the line.
Rounded Square
1. Click on the rounded square icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Adjust the opacity and appearance of the square using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.

3. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the two corners of the rounded square.


Circle
1. Click on the circle icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Adjust the opacity and appearance of the circle using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.

3. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the size and position of the circle.


Polygon
1. Click on the polygon icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Select the number of sides of the polygon from the menu.

3. Adjust the opacity and appearance of the polygon using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.

4. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the size and position of the polygon.


Star
1. Click on the star icon in the section second from the left in the lower tool bar.

2. Select the number of points on the star from the menu.

3. Adjust the opacity and appearance of the star using the options second from the right in the lower tool bar.
4. Click and drag inside of the photo to determine the two corners of the star.



Object Adjustments after it has Been Pasted

Duplicate an Object
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click the “+” icon next to the selected photo.
 Note: You can also duplicate an object after it is selected by clicking the paper and plus sign icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.


Delete an Object
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click the “x” icon next to the selected photo.

Note: You can also delete an object after it is selected by clicking the trash can icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

Size of an Object
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click and drag any of the squares along the edges of the selected object’s surrounding rectangle.

 Rotate an Object  
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click and drag the upside-down U shaped arrow icon on the top of selected photo.


Behind Other Objects
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click on the circles in front of squares icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

Front of Other Objects
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click on the square in front of circlesicon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.  


Object’s Appearance
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar

2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click on the pencil icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

Paste an Object
1. Click the cursor icon in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.
2. Click on a pasted object in the photo.

3. Click on Photo+Objects in the section furthest to the right in the lower tool bar.

4. Click OK in the window that appears.

Note: If an object goes outside of the photo area, you can choose either to have the additional part of the object cropped off of the photo, or to have additional background area added onto the photo to accommodate the entire object. The Combine your photo bullet point will crop the object; the Object is out of range bullet point will add additional background area.
